Future Generations and Renewable Energy

I believe that climate change and the search for 100% renewable energy dependency is the biggest fight and challenge that we face in todays world, and the world facing our children’s world. However, there is a lack of urgency, and always has been a lack of urgency, when it comes to the need to search for these resources and how we can become more sustainable.

With this up and coming generation, it’s hard to imagine that they will seriously take climate change and the search for renewable energy into their own hands. At least for now. It seems that humans, sadly, rather than be proactive, we have become reactive. I just hope that we react a little quicker, and before things get out of hand. It’s sad to imagine a world where things like animals and places will slowly start to disappear due to our lack of urgency when it comes to these pressing issues. And I think that is when we will really start to get the next generation enthusiastic and supportive of this cause; when things seriously start to go wrong. I think that only when issues start to hit home, and lives are lost, and only when we can relate that back and pinpoint it on global warming, then we will start to get gears turning. Climate change and the search for renewable energy go hand in hand, and climate change is the product of our lack of urgency when it comes to searching for these renewable energy sources.

All in all, I do believe that only when we start to see problems affect our daily lives, and sadly when lives are lost, will we take the cause of finding renewable energy sources to help combat the damage that we have done, and help protect the future for generations to come.
